FOR THE MOST BEAUTIFUL
Book ID/图书代码: 13160014B74170
English Summary/英文概要: The city of Troy is about to fall. And only two people know how to save it.
Three thousand years ago a war took place where legends were born: Achilles, the greatest of the Greeks, and Hector, prince of the Trojans. Both men were made and destroyed by the war that shook the foundations of the world. But what if there were more to the tale of these heroes than we know? What if there were a secret story, hidden in the pages of Homer? What if there were another, true legend of the Trojan War?
Now the true story of Troy is told for the first time. Krisayis, the ambitious, determined daughter of the High Priest of Troy, and Briseis, loyal and passionate princess of Pedasus, interweave their tales alongside the classic story of the rage of Achilles and the frivolous, terrifying, achingly humorous gods of Olympus. When Krisayis’ father tries to force her into the priesthood against her will, she decides to take her fate into her own hands and escape from Troy, only to be captured as a prisoner of war to the Greeks. Briseis’ husband, Mynes, is slain in front of her eyes by Achilles and she is forced to be his slave. What follows is a breathtaking tale of love and revenge, destiny and the determination to save their country as these two brave women, the heroes of the Trojan War and the gods come face to face in an epic battle that will decide the fate of Troy.
Full of action, tragic and soaring with hope, breathtakingly daring in its epic scope and the almighty battles of gods and men, this is the compelling, page-turning, timeless legend of the Trojan War at its very best.
