About the Author/作者介绍： FREDRIC JAMESON 弗德列克．詹明信
1934年4月出生於美國的克里夫蘭，在耶魯大學獲得碩博士學位，博士研究領域為法國文學，發表博士論文《沙特：一種風格的起源》。耶魯畢業後，在哈佛大學任教。1967年，為美國加州大學聖達戈分校副教授、教授，主講法國文學和比較文學。1976年又回到耶魯大學法文系擔任教授。1986 年，他到杜克大學擔任比較文學客座教授、文學系主任兼批評理論研究所所長。2003年辭去系主任職務，繼續擔任批評理論研究所所長，兼任杜克大學人文科學學術委員會主任。

Fredric Jameson is Distinguished Professor of Comparative Literature at Duke University. The author of numerous books, he has over the last three decades developed a richly nuanced vision of Western culture’s relation to political economy. He was a recipient of the 2008 Holberg International Memorial Prize. He is the author of many books, including Postmodernism, Or, The Cultural Logic of Late Capitalism, The Cultural Turn, A Singular Modernity, The Modernist Papers, Archaeologies of the Future, Brecht and Method, Ideologies of Theory, Valences of the Dialectic, The Hegel Variations and Representing Capital.
