English Summary/英文概要： Seven Stories Press is delighted to announce an agreement with the acclaimed translator Peter Constantine, whose anthology The Undiscovered Chekhov garnered the 1999 National Translation Award from the American Literary Translators Association, to publish Little Apples and OtherStories, a second anthology of Chekhov’s little--‐‑known earlier writings. As before, Constantine will be working with Seven Stories founder and chief editor Dan Simon. The book is expected in 2016.
Constantine’s previous book of lost Chekhov pieces, published by Seven Stories in 1998, was responsible for a major resurgence in global interest in Chekhov, and was supported by theater and film luminaries including Cherry Jones, Eli Wallach, and Spalding Gray, who contributed an introduction to the book.

Anton Chekhov(1860—1904) is widely considered one of the greatest writers of plays and short stories ever to have lived, and has exerted an influence on the literature of the twentieth and twenty--first centuries that cannot be overstated. His major works include The Seagull, Uncle Vanya, The Cherry Orchard, and Lady With a Dog.
Peter Constantine is a translator whose unique career has spanned work from the Russian, Greek, German, French, Italian, Alabanian, Dutch, and Slovene. He has translated writing by, among others, Sophocles, Niccolò Machiavelli, Jean--‐‑Jacques Rousseau, Voltaire, Isaac Babel, Hannah Arendt, Ismail Kadare, Thomas Mann, and Günter Grass.
