Chinese Summary/中文概要:
Bruce Cadogan is a New Yorker working on a PhD thesis about Borges and the origins of the tango. One day he runs into another scholar, who tells him about an extraordinary tango singer called Julio Martel she’d happened to hear the last time she visited Buenos Aires - and Cadogan decides it would be worth an airfare to Argentina just to hear Martel sing. So he goes to Buenos Aires. The book is his search for the singer, as well as a delicious literary trip through the streets - both real and imaginary - of the city. The Tango Singer is compelling and wonderfully moving. Whilst unforgiving of Buenos Aires’ political insanity and ruthlessness - and as tragic and as devastatingly sad as a tango - this fabulous novel is also a love song, a paean to a city of great writers and great music.
